There will be open from 1 to 15 October at Angra do Heroísmo Public Library and exhibition that I have put together entitled “Tratados de Música” (“Music Treatises”), a selection of 18th-, 19th- and early 20th-century treatises on music housed in the Library, many of which belong to the Tomás Borba collection.

I will be presenting a conference entitled “Música Sacra Portuguesa do Século XIX: A Prática Musical na Sé de Angra” (“Portuguese Sacred Music of the 19th Century: Musical Practice at Angra Cathedral”), and will also conduct the Ensemble and Coro da Sé de Angra at the presentation of the triple-CD Música Sacra Portuguesa: Arquivo Capitular da Sé de Angra ceremony.

There will be open until the end of next week a small exhibition that I have put together with several 19th-century music manuscripts that were recorded in the triple-CD “Portuguese Sacred Music of the 19th Century” and the recently identified music prints of Duarte Lobo’s 1621 Liber Missarum and Magnificat book as also Manuel Cardoso’s Magnificat book.
