Luís Henriques is a Portuguese musicologist of Azorean-birth that is specialized in late-sixteenth century and seventeenth- century Portuguese sacred polyphony.
He holds a Degree in Musicology from the School of Arts of Évora University and is currently finishing his Master Degree in Musical Sciences at the Faculdade de Ciência Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
He is a researcher at UnIMeM – Unidade de Investigação em Música e Músicologia, based at the Évora University and mpmp – Movimento Patrimonial pela Música Portuguesa.
His work focuses in late-sixteenth and seventeenth-century musical sources from Évora Cathedral, eighteenth-century chant sources and nineteenth-century sacred music from the Azores Archipelago. He also has dedicated much effort in the edition of Portuguese sacred music from various periods and the performance of polyphonic repertoire with his ensembles.
